I saw Shwaas today. Excellent movie. I was afraid it would not live up to all the hype I had heard .. but it did, with space to spare. Acting by the 3 main characters of the film .. the kid, his grand-dad and the doctor ..especially him .. is inscrutable. The scenery, the background .. whatever it is called in film jargon .. is pretty cool .. and the whole film (well, most of it) is realistic. Wise decision to keep the film around an hour and half.
Anyways .. I read that out of the Rs 65 lakh that the movie has managed to rake in for the oscar promotions .. just 1.5 lakh has come from Bollywood. [read this on some blog .. but cant find which one now .. sorry dude]. Apalling to say the least.

err .. radhika .. i said shwaas lived up to all the hype i had heard. now shwaas being constant, the only difference will be our perspective, or the hype we were subjected to ;-)
I seriously liked this movie. I was watching shwaas in my room, while my roomies were watching 'main hoo na' outside .. maybe for the 3rd time. puts things more into perspective now doesnt it?

I agree..its a very nice movie...and all have acted so realistic. but yes its sad to know abt the contri made by bollywood...but hey the marathi cinema still made it...aint it ..am proud of that.

Posted by: Chinmay at November 29, 2004 01:21 PMI visited NJ to see natak Suryachi Pille and the director of Shwaas and his samaan had come to promote the movie .....saying that a big hype and buzz had to be created so that the movie is nominated for best foreign film...it is not yet nominated for oscars it is just Indias entry to best foreign film category.
A panel of judges will review all foreign films and then a abt 4/5 movies will be selected ...and eventually the winner ..
The movie is good but i have seen better like aooo phusss taklu haivan mhantyaat
