U.S. is turning into India. Okay I am being harsh here. Even in India we never go without water for 2-3 days, neither are stuck in traffic jams for 2 hrs or more.
Posted by anya at November 15, 2004 02:23 AM | TrackBackdude.. always thought u.s. was overrated... i learnt it the first time i drove up the 18th avenue ;).. but 2 hrs jam... thats so possible in delhi atleast.. and i've known places which went without electricity and water for a week... am not trying to defend the u.s. here.. our govt. head is soooooooo much better than Bush :D...
Posted by: Prashant at November 15, 2004 07:32 PMWater without 2-3 days, its nothing new in Chennai. But in so called "Advanced country" if people can go without water for 2-3 days its a big deal.
There is a street in SanJose which remains unpaved for last two or three decades or so. They call it the worst street in SanJose, the oldest resident of that street, some 80 yr old woman hasn't seen it paved yet.
Posted by: Krishna at November 15, 2004 07:58 PMI agree with Prashant,
US is definitely overrated. Always remember India is a developing country. Give it another 50 years... the goras will ask us for H-1B
Yes, this place aint as great as people make it sound!
Posted by: Nupur at November 16, 2004 10:33 AMIt has been seen that the traffic conditions in any part of the world always go down as the country grows economically.
We are in way better conditions than in some places like rajasthan/sudan etc where you have to walk 5/10 miles to get water because they are no roads.
Chennai is complete gaav if they have no water for 2-3 days. But then people from there also act like complete gavakadchi lokaa.. temples for actresses etc. all this crap comes from the puur land of His Holiness Rajnikanth.:))
One more thing to add to your list of woes about chicago is the fckn weather.
Posted by: bluntneedle at November 16, 2004 04:05 PMYou are wrong my friend.
U.S. is turning into Hyderabad.
Telugu separatist organization called "the Sambar Party" controls 10% the u.s. economy.
Money is being channeled through u know which companies. These same companies have also created a large network of ppl in the US even places alabama and mississippi.
all they want is NY because they like to take pics at the statue of liberty and niagra falls its a religious thing and they also want NJ and CAL because their relatives live there (actually all the blue states)and texas
I think if the gvt doesnt agree they have decided to carry out lethal large scale sambar/rasssam (with extra red chilli powder) contamination of the great lakes.
These are ruthless people. they have already contaminated hoover dam with poliogare and bisbille rice!!!they r not afraid of anything they have a secrect language code and large scale propoganda IS being CARRIED out AS WE speak under the cia and fbis nose. this is through the millions of resumes tht are being circulated on the internet. dont get me wrong some of these r genuine but the dirty ones are refered to as reshumes. these sre the one tht need to be decoded. i havent craked the code yet.
But god willing one day......inshay allah
I cannot disclose any more info.
Im scared of these ppl......
PS. If u r ever at a party and someone offers u a bir not a beer .....a BIR or a biir.(this is code for would u like to join the sambar revolution). carefully and cautiously follow the steps given below.....THIS caN save your life PUNK! read care fully -
Politely refuse the biir...dont say beer say biir.
if asked why say u made a promise to balaji, the SP member will not insist u drink beer again for the rest of the night. also he will respect you.
make small talk by praising TDP and chandra babu and critizing everyone else.
compare chandra babu to John kerry and say chandra babu is better looking.
Praise the rice sambar and pickles at the party.ask gaaru for recipe
say u remembered to call india and u have to walk out for a min.
leave the scene dont plan on changing ur identity because 99.88 percent of the time the person who will be doing this shady dealings with u is from sambar party and u will b forced to eat yogurt rice with podi ..
make a few blk and mexican friends .......sambar party tends to ignore these ethnic groups for some reason they are considered insignificant kind of like how (u.s gvt or may b u all) feel abt. ants or trees or gays ; drug addicts and pakistanis.
Posted by: Bill Gates at November 17, 2004 12:32 AMsry abt my last comment i love trees. i was refering to the non fruit bearing trees......like the christmas tree.
also please dont complain abt typos when ur spell chk is not requested..........u know how much ppl love "MS office assistant".
Posted by: Bill Gates at November 17, 2004 12:56 AMIf my comments hurt anyones sentiments ......
I AM very very SORRY and i can prove in the court of law im mentally instable so dont bother suing me........
let me offer u a bir!
Billy well said, i am aware of the power that the Sambar Power has acquired over the last 5/6 years in this country. It is awesome and unbelievable they have penetrated the technology market of america in such a way that the effects are irrepairable. They are really brainy people who know that once the contaminate and control technology they will eventually takeover all the blue states.
Actually i think thy already have NJ and CAL how else did Arnold get the power to control CAL we know they love him from commander and terminater.
Also i have been offered biir, yougurt rice, podi, puliyagro and bisibille ..but i never knew it was like accepting the rule of the Sambar Power. Man this is indeed scary ....
Yea and Babu maybe not as sophisticated but much more handsomer than Kerry also i think he is well built and stronger too.
Look at the how the Singapore government inflates the prices of cars by horrendous scales, just so that this country doesn't have to deal with issues like traffic jams. http://www.discoverabroad.com/Singapore/LivingAbroad/Transportation%5CBuyingaCar.htm
And another point not mentioned in the above link, the public transport system is fantastic!
Plus the driving license test is a total bitch, I know of people who had to go through 6 tests before they got a license, and out here, each time they sit for a test, they should have undergone the entire driving lesson ritual for god-knows-how-many weeks!!
Is Singapore communist?
Posted by: Shakaal at November 17, 2004 01:13 PM*gasp*
And tis a good thing you aren't in Singapore, or they might have arrested you by now, under the Internal Security Act :D
They prefer to call themselves democratic, some go to the extent of admitting to being more like an authoritarian democracy.
Whatever the case, it's been working for so many decades, so nobody's bothering to complain.
Mr. Lee jindabad!
Posted by: anya at November 17, 2004 03:54 PMoh i know i'm going to ruin the joke here...
but um. how bout. no. there is a huge difference in one aspect at least: people still listen to road laws in respect to traffic lights and things like that. for the 89% of the time, haha.
i think some parts of india are really crazy nice, but some parts are just gross. i mean. no one here has to boil water. people boil water even if it's just a little leak. they won't even brush their teeth in it. because we have OCD like that.
Posted by: anne at November 17, 2004 08:02 PMLOLOL see, life is a circle. We end up where we started. :-)
Posted by: Whirlwings at November 17, 2004 10:36 PMHey Anya! Hope you had a nice Diwali too! Funny, but the potholes on Chicago roads is something I too remember quite well...haven't seem them that bad anywhere else in the US
Posted by: Spaceman at November 17, 2004 10:44 PMconsidering i design roads, that too in chicago..its not very complimentary.
Posted by: alpha at November 19, 2004 12:49 PMalpha: ha ha ha ... maybe they were designed and made b4 u came here? ;-)
