Christopher Reeve, the actor of Superman fame died yesterday after fighting a decade-long battle for his health. He was paralyzed from the neck down after a horse-riding accident and had vowed to walk one day. True to the spirit, Superman was a real-life inspiration to many and continued to teach other paralytics to live more independently. He campaigned for funds and supported effective treatment and research for paralysis and stem cell research through his foundation. I believe he lived up to his image of the caped crusader, which he sought to shed on screen.

Posted by: Gautam at October 12, 2004 10:01 AMhe was an icon.
i never knew him in his superman days. just knew that he was a great man.
yeah he was a hero not only in reel life but also in real life !! :)
Posted by: Pallavi at October 12, 2004 10:49 PMIt was real sad. Superman is dead.....can't believe it.
Posted by: pratap at October 13, 2004 01:55 AMI still love the superman theme song and remember the good old days when me and my friends used to take bath towels and tie them around our neck and with one hand up in the air go around our whole community.I still have 2 superman shirts.Oneof them is grey with a "S" rubber print on the front.Really cool.
As for Christopher Reeves - Awesomely strong human being.Bad actor, although he portrayed the character of "Superman" brilliantly. Donated a lot of money towards spinal cord and stem cell research which is really awesome.
But i dont think he was a superhero in real life.I mean cmon everybody and anybody who has the money to afford a personal trainer, nurse, servers, physiotherapist and that much money + a celebrity would abviously get all the footage about how he fought the battle of paralysis.
But then somebody with that much money has already won half of the battle,
unlike the unfortunate paraplegics(paralyptics..dont know the right word.) who have to fight the battle on their own with very limited/zero help from dedicated nurses and servers at your beck and call for 24 hours.
Hmmm having said a lot maybe i should start my own blog....:)
Adios Christopher Reeve you will be missed ,always wish you would have made one more superman movie.
