Sonia will be pm. the more i think of it .. the surer I am. It may not be as bad as I was thinking it would be. chalaychaach. yahi to politics hai. as long as this govt does'nt interfere with the economic reforms I am fine with it.
The thing I find more disturbing is Mulayam as deputy pm .. or maybe Laloo. Mulayam has no political ethics (is that an oxymoron?) or standards. He is too scheming to be comfortable with. Laloo is notorious, but is not as bad as Mulayam. Still I would prefer some other deputy pm.
If anything good comes out of this govt .. I would say Jairam Ramesh as Finance Minister. That guy would definitely get to work.
Somehow, I find it more palatabale than others that Sonia will be pm.
We are a democracy, and we ourselves are responsible for our actions. India has got the goverment, (and prime minister) that she chose. (and maybe even deserved). Even though I did'nt want sonia for pm .. it looks like many many more people chose her, over Vajpayee .. which I find extremely hard to digest. The result was highly surprising, but as I have learnt over the past year .. life dishes up a lot of things which are hard to digest. We, personally and now as a nation should be ready to face this instead of bickering and thinking up alternate forms of government or thinking up ways and new rules of trying to prevent Sonia from becoming prime minister.
Forget Sonia yaar.....Govinda won!Govinda??????!!!!!!And Siddhu.......what next....Siddhuism as a compulsory in all English medium schools and "Tujhe mirchi lagi to mein kya karu" as national anthem and "Sarkailo Khatiya" as the pledge....and Mulayam and Laloo in the cabinet!!!!Man-o-man!!!!!!

well I also find it very disturbing that sonia will become PM (may be a better one than laloo and mulayam..) but of course thats my opinion but seems that there are more ppl in our country who differ !!!
And if she becomes PM ofcourse she will get the respect a PM should deserve even though she does not deserve acording to me....
also i wonder anya, most of the ppl i have come in contact with and been interacting with for the past 23 yrs of my life i have come across very few who could digest this situation........but still this is happening, why i say?
Here is another thought.... how can the fate of the nation be decided by ppl who have support of only 40 or 20 constituencies (mulayam and laloo). isnt it unfare??
A possible solution i can think of : "India should have a presidential mode of government". in that case elections will be contested on even platform across the nation and the leader the counntry chooses will be having true mandate of ppl !!!!
there are many issues interlinked with this defeat suffered by NDA.
i think congress has projected sonia very well, as a 'pehli bahoo' of the nation. of course there is nehru-gandhi pariwar factor which affects the decisions of people right from 1947.
on the other hand , we must not forget that cong+ got only 217 seats thaat means other seats are against them as we know, this states that, people are either confused about whom to vote or they find no candidate suitable for voting. the electronic voting system didnot allowed the voters to disqualify their votes(that should be allowed)
the other factor was, the timing local issues raised by cong+ was very good. people have very short term memeory, they tend to forget things happened in the past nless they are made to remember them. this is exactly what has happened. people got so much involved in the local issues which prorjected NDA alliance as not so good(or even bad), that they turned away from them.
the third important reason was of 'drought'. it has been proved many times that good monsoon makes feel good factor for the current govt. this time, many areas lacked the water supply they needed. this is very important issue during elections which was forgotten by NDA, as they tried to cash-in on the 'state sucess' by declaring early elections.
points to note:
Mr. Vajepayee himself was not for the early elections.
his rating is still high against sonia gandhi, even today
I still can't digest that Sonia will be PM, somehow I don't think that she will be a capable PM;more like a puppet in the hands of other party members or whomever...

talking about sonia: remember a joker is the one you laugh on, but is the same one who wins you hands . its all about situations. congress/allies knows sonia is the only hope who will keep cong. and themselves in power.
